QUESTIONS
What people ask at the desk.
In the order they come up, starting at six in the morning.
Before booking
Do I need a credit card?
Yes, in the main driver's name. It holds the deposit, which is released when you bring the car back. Debit and prepaid cards cannot hold it.
How old do I have to be?
Twenty-one, with a licence held for a year. Up to twenty-five the hire costs €8 a day more, already worked into the quote.
Can I book for someone else?
You can, but the card and the licence at the desk have to belong to whoever drives. If you pay and your partner drives, bring both sets of documents.
What is the shortest hire?
Two nights. Seven nights takes 10% off, fourteen takes 15%.
At pick-up
My flight is late.
Put your flight number on the booking and we wait up to an hour past the scheduled landing, at no charge.
I land at two in the morning.
The desk closes at 23:30. An out-of-hours collection is arranged by phone and costs €25.
What should I bring?
Licence, passport or ID card, and the driver's credit card. Licences from outside the EU need an International Driving Permit alongside.
While you have the car
How many kilometres do I get?
As many as you want. Mileage is unlimited on every car, with no bands and no small print.
Can I take it on a ferry?
Yes, if you tell us first. It costs nothing, and without the heads-up the crossing is uninsured. The car stays inside Italy.
I have a puncture.
Call the assistance number on the key fob. With zero-excess cover, tyres and wheels are included.
I need a child seat.
€5 a day, capped at €40 for the hire. Past eight days it stops adding up.
Bringing it back
How much fuel should be in it?
Whatever it had when you left. Anything missing is charged at pump price plus €15 for the trip to fill it.
Can I return to the airport if I collected in town?
Yes, for €30 once. You pick the return desk in the quote itself.
When do I get the deposit back?
We release it when the car comes back. After that it is your bank, usually three to ten days.
