TERMS
The rules, on one page.
These are the rules the quote applies while you build it. Written out here so you can read them before you get to the desk.
Who can drive
- 21 and over, licence held for at least a year.
- Under 25 adds €8 a day, already inside the total you see.
- A second driver is free and gets registered at pick-up, with their licence.
What to bring
- A valid licence for the main driver.
- Passport or identity card.
- A credit card in the main driver's name. Prepaid and debit cards cannot hold the deposit.
- Licences issued outside the EU need an International Driving Permit alongside.
Deposit
- €300 held on the card at pick-up. Held, not charged.
- Take the zero-excess cover and nothing is held at all.
- The release goes out when the car comes back; how fast it clears is your bank's business, usually three to ten days.
Insurance
- Every hire includes third-party, theft and fire, and collision cover with a €300 excess.
- Zero excess costs €12 a day and takes your liability to nothing on bodywork, glass, tyres and underside.
- Not covered: lost keys, wrong fuel, damage done by an unregistered driver.
Fuel
- Full to full. Bring it back with what it left with.
- Anything missing is charged at pump price plus €15 for the trip to fill it.
- Or take the prepaid tank at €65: leave full, return it however you like.
Mileage
- Unlimited on every car, with no bands and no exceptions.
Length, discounts, hours
- 2 nights minimum.
- 10% off from 7 nights, 15% from 14. It applies itself.
- The airport desk runs 6:00 to 23:30. Outside that a collection can be arranged for €25.
- Collecting and returning at different desks: €30, once.
Extras
- Child seat €5 a day, capped at €40 for the hire.
- Sat nav €4 a day, capped at €30.
- Capped means that past a certain day the extra stops adding up. The breakdown says so on the line itself.
The convertible in winter
- The Fiat 500C is not hired out between 1 November – 15 March.
- Those nights are struck through on the date ribbon, so you find out while you are picking the dates.
Leaving Sicily
- Anywhere in Italy is fine.
- Tell us before you board a ferry. It costs nothing, and without the heads-up the crossing is not covered.
- Outside Italy, no.
Damage, fines, wrong fuel
- We walk around the car together at pick-up and photograph what is there. Same photographs when it comes back.
- Fines reach us months later: we pass your details to the issuing authority and charge €25 for handling it.
- Wrong fuel: the tow and the tank flush are down to whoever was driving.
Cancellations
- Free until 48 hours before pick-up.
- Inside 48 hours we keep one night.
- No-show without a word: two nights.
The seasons
The multiplier applies per night. A week straddling July and August pays the August multiplier on the August nights alone.
| Season | When | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| High | 1–31 August | ×1.55 |
| Mid | 1–31 July · 1–15 September · 20–31 December · 1–6 January · 1–10 April | ×1.25 |
| Low | the rest of the year | ×1.00 |
Corsara Rent is an invented business. This page shows how rental conditions get structured; none of these clauses binds anybody.
